A school in Chaghchi, just outside of Sheberghan in Afghanistan, was caught in crossfire between the Afghan National Army and Taliban forces in April 2021. With the Taliban return to power in August 2021, girls have largely been banned from attending school, depriving them of their right to education, and increasing their likelihood of being forced into marriage while still children.
