Shirine Gul is 35 years old. She is originally from Badghis. She is the mother of eight children: six girls, two boys, aged between 6 and 21 years old. She has lived in Sharak Sabz for six years. She moved here six years ago because of the war. Her husband died because he was ill. Three of his children are disabled: They are blind, cannot stand or walk. Shirine Gul spins wool to meet the needs of her family. She earns around 25 Afghanis per day. She buys wool for 15 Afghanis. Meals consist of dry bread tea. Sometimes she cooks some vegetables when she can buy them at the bazaar. During the earthquake, one of his daughters who is bllind, 10-year-old Abida, was injured in the arm. She was treated at the hospital, but she is still in pain. If Shirine Gul does not find a solution, she will sell her daughter Fauzia, 6, who is not disabled in marriage.
