Katayoun “Katiana” Khosrowyar, is the successful head coach of Iran’s national Under-14 team. In August, 2022, women were allowed to attend a domestic match in Tehran after a forty-year ban was lifted prohibiting women from attending sports stadiums.

In September, protests erupted across Iran in response to the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman held in custody by Iran’s morality police for violating the country’s compulsory dress code. Iran’s girls have joined the women of Iran on their journey to equality. During the onslaught of batons and bullets, they have removed their hijab, cut their hair, and left their classrooms to join the demonstrations in the streets calling for their freedom. 2015.
