A young sex trafficking survivor rests in a halfway house outside of Manila, Philippines. In the wake of typhoons, many women and girls from climate change vulnerable areas, particularly Samar and Leyte, fall into the sex trade after being displaced from storms. Up until 2022, the legal age of sexual consent was 12 years old in the Philippines, one of the lowest ages of consent globally. A child is sold for sex approximately 20-30 times a day, and most children who are trafficked for sex work are between the ages of 12 and 14 years old (The Child Liberation Foundation). 2016.

Hannah Reyes Morales is a Filipina documentary photographer and storyteller. Dedicated to revealing the gentleness and love within difficult, often violent situations, Morales sensitively honours the experiences of the people she portrays.
